The NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 is a budget Turing architecture consumer GPU, launched in March 2019. It provided entry into the Turing generation at an accessible price point, though it was quickly superseded by the GDDR6-equipped Super variant.
The GTX 1660 uses the TU116 die with 6GB of GDDR5 memory providing 192 GB/s bandwidth. It includes 1,408 CUDA cores with no Tensor Cores or RT cores. TDP is 120W.
The use of GDDR5 instead of GDDR6 reduced costs but also limited memory bandwidth compared to the GTX 1660 Ti and later GTX 1660 Super. The GTX 1660 positioned below these cards in both performance and price.
The GTX 1660 provided capable 1080p gaming with Turing's improved efficiency over Pascal. However, the GTX 1660 Super's release with GDDR6 at similar pricing made the original 1660 less attractive for new purchases.
