The NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 Super is a refreshed mainstream Turing consumer GPU, launched in October 2019. It upgraded the memory from GDDR5 (in the original GTX 1660) to GDDR6, providing performance near the GTX 1660 Ti at a lower price.
The GTX 1660 Super uses the TU116 die with 6GB of GDDR6 memory providing 336 GB/s bandwidth. It includes 1,408 CUDA cores with no Tensor Cores or RT cores. TDP is 125W.
The GDDR6 memory upgrade significantly improved memory bandwidth, closing the gap with the GTX 1660 Ti. The result was near-1660 Ti performance at original 1660 pricing, making it exceptional value.
The GTX 1660 Super became one of the best budget gaming GPUs of its generation, providing reliable 1080p high-refresh gaming without paying the RTX premium. Its combination of performance, price, and efficiency made it very popular.
